The New York Observer has an excellent story detailing Bob Woodward’s tenuous relationship with the Washington Post.

“I don’t think I’ve kept in touch with Bob over the years,” said Washington Post executive editor Leonard Downie Jr.
Many journalists would love to be in Woodward’s shoes: the money, prestige, the enviable position. Still, because of Woodward’s undisclosed Plame connection, his reporting merit has come under fire in recent weeks. The Observer article’s worth a good read.
